Cheap Art Manifesto

Art should be cheap, free, accessible to everyone. Regardless their income or social class.

But Art should remain expensive in quality, able to enrich people not transform them into a mass.

I agree with all the ideas here, although I do have some questions. Banksy is a perfect example of an artist who tries to achieve that, and yet his art gets stolen from the public for rich people to buy it. So how could the art world make this manifesto real?

Maggie thank you for your comments.
This is the real challenge of an artist. How his/her creations and works can be popular but still remain accessible and not become part of the art market.
On the other hand money doesn’t make art unethical, the artists are people that also need to survive in this capitalist society, hence they need to find ways to sell their art. So, in my opinion what we can “judge” is those ways not whether they end up being on the art market.
